Quick read on how to overcome Disappointment in Motherhood.

Humans are always putting their faith and hope in something.

Throughout my life, I have often put my hope in things that failed to make me feel better and grow.

I’ve hoped in people like my husband, parents, best friends, coaches, etc.

And while they have always been helpful, loving, and supportive, they cannot fix my burdens – they are only human too.

I’ve also put my hope in things like…

Money, cars, phones, food, travel, social media, Google, self-help books, podcasts, etc.

I found help and inspiration, but the simple fact remains…

None of the people, things, or info has ever saved me and given me real peace.

Many, if not all, of the above, have failed me in one way or another.

God knew this would happen.

The world is full of disappointment; this is why His Word says…

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

Everything God has created has been made to glorify Him.

Putting our hope and faith in something is a natural part of who we have been created to be.

God asks us to put our trust and hope in Him because if we put it in anything else, we will find failure and disappointment.

We are to desire Him with all our heart and soul.

Being that we’re sinners and imperfect, it is natural that we fall short of loving God with all our heart.

He knows our hearts are tainted by sin, but he also gave us a way to cleanse our souls.

Ask the Lord to forgive your sins, and thank Jesus for his death that gives us grace and makes us right in the Father’s eyes.

Spend time daily, getting to know Him more, read His word, listen to sermons and commentaries, dive deep into what He is telling us in His Book.

Place your trust in him in everything you do – even with the boring mundane things in life.

He speaks to you, and you can trust that he put his arm around you and guide you to the next best thing that he has in store for you.

No matter what you’re struggling with, read Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus has an answer for you!
